In my artist's statement, I explore the powerful idea that art is a continuous conversation across time and talent. Though my creative process can feel solitary, I see myself as part of a vast, unseen collaboration. This includes everyone from my print provider and online community to the Old Masters who inspire me. I illustrate this concept with poignant historical examples: the posthumous collaboration on The Book of Modern Calligraphy by Bocskay and Hoefnagel, and the layered artistry of The Blood Book Series, which incorporates engravings from artists like William Blake. My work is a conscious participation in this timeless dialogue. By ethically sourcing and restoring public domain artworks—including the botanical beauty of Pierre-Joseph Redouté—I aim to ensure these masterpieces live on, bringing joy and inspiration beyond museum walls. In doing so, I strive to bring Jackson Pollock's belief that "the modern artist is working across space and time" to life.

A Small Giving Mission

I believe in small acts of big love. Therefore, the goal is to have a small giving mission in the last quarter of the year near Christmas. A small portion of my efforts is to giving back because there are children in the children's home or communities spending alone who deserves warmth, hope, and a little bit of joy too. In the last quarter of the year, I source for what they might need such as school supplies and others as early small Christmas gifts. It is my small way of nurturing and givining back one heart at a time. Right now, it is still a small and humble program but I hope to make it better. Last year in 2024, with heart full, 50 mini goodie bags were packed for the Singapore Children Society as donation in kind, filled practical stationary to write dreams with and aromatherapy shower gels for self care moments. It was not much at all but I hope I can do more. This year in 2025, I did it but for raising funds for their charity walk - it is our hope to plant love in even the humblest soil.
